Chocolate Wrapper Guilty Pleasure

Restaurant Alchemist has created a dish for their dining experience to highlight a big problem in the chocolate industry. They want to start a movement in European restaurants to use better chocolate, which could push stores and chocolate companies to fight against child labor. Most cocoa, about 70%, comes from West Africa, where farmers often use kids instead of adults because they need cheap labor. The wrapper is made from biodegradable material.

As part of the endeavor, I designed the wrapper for the dish, leaning the design on a common chocolate wrapper, playing with the ingredients, and simultaneously incorporating information about the

social issue onto its back as a form of "nutritional" information.

The chocolate bar itself is shaped like a coffin to signal the severity of the problem. Inside the casing, is a mango jam, roasted peanut gianduja with milk chocolate, salted caramel, and crispy cacao.  The illustration I created for the coffin was made into a casing for the chocolate bar.
